SpongeBob SquarePants gets married ?

Well, this might finally quash those gay rumours: SpongeBob SquarePants is tying the knot.

So who's the lucky lady? That would be Sandy Cheeks, the perky squirrel who resides with SpongeBob in the undersea town of Bikini Bottom.

The wedding will be a part of Truth or Square, an upcoming special episode celebrating SpongeBob's 10th year on television. In the one-hour instalment, SpongeBob is accidentally locked inside the Krusty Krab's freezer with his pals Patrick, Squidward and Mr Krabs while they celebrate the burger restaurant's "eleventy seventh" anniversary.

While the quartet attempts to find a way out, they pass the time by reminiscing about never-before-seen events in their lives. These flashbacks include SpongeBob's first visit to the Krusty Krab as a baby, how he found his famous pineapple house, and his marriage to Sally.

Celebrities including Ricky Gervais, Tina Fey, Rosario Dawson and Pink will appear as themselves in live-action segments of the special, which will premiere in the US in November.
